Just Now Reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman

October 22nd, 2009 No comments

American Gods is about 200,000 words long, and I’m sure there are words that are simply in there ’cause I like them. I know I couldn’t justify each and every one of them.
- Neil Gaiman

americangods-hardAlright.. so I arrived a little late to the Gaiman party. But I’m here now, right?

I just got done reading American Gods and once again I’m blown away by the genius that is Neil Gaiman. Clearly he is a master story-teller. He holds your interest, captivates you, and makes you question what’s real and what isn’t. He brings the touch of magic I once had as a little girl.

So with that in mind… the main character Shadow goes on a very long adventure which crosses many miles and many different deities. And some smarty-pants (whom I truly adore now and would share an ice cream with) created “only the gods are real”which is a comprehensive guide to all the travels Shadow had, the gods he met along the way, as well as speculation to whom “the forgotten god” is.

If you’ve read the book.. check out the site. If you haven’t read the book and have no idea what I’m talking about, go add it to your list.

It’s not so much knowing when to speak, when to pause.

0001I love tiny things. What I like most of all is Tiny Versions of Bigger Things. I’m really digging these themed blogs. They feed something to me that tastes a little like cotton candy.

Everyone seems to be posting this link… and who am I to ignore greatness? The Sandwich Calculator by the legacy of Rob Cockerham.

Well.. while I’m posting theme links.. here’s another. It’s NotNSFW blog. Clean stuff… well… nearly clean.
